BEFORE DOMAIN RELEASE
The domain name registration service in SU TLD, geodomains and in COM.RU, NET.RU, ORG.RU, PP.RU is rendered for one year. If a Registrant fails to renew domain registration for the next period, the domain will be released from the domain name Registry.
The domain name scheduled release date starts to be displayed in the free-date field of RU-CENTER's Whois-service after its registration expiry date.
The actual domain release may not exactly match the scheduled date, whereas domains normal release procedure does not fall on weekends and on next days after weekends.
The "List of soon-to-expire domain names" is published on the auction.nic.ru site. It enables you to find an appropriate domain name and make a backorder.
Whois data is used to generate the list.
A popularity index is displayed for each domain (GOOGLE PageRank, YANDEX TCI etc.), that is, the list is accompanied with estimation of appeal of each domain name.
By using the list of soon-to-expire domain names you can choose a domain and make a backorder directly from the list.
The list is updated every 24 hours. Whereas information about a domain name, including domain release date can change every 24 hours we recommend that the current information on the domain using the Whois service be checked before making a backorder.
Note, that the "Backorder" service can be ordered for any domain, and not only from the list.
You can order the "Backorder" service for any taken domain in SU TLD, geodomains and in COM.RU, NET.RU, ORG.RU, PP.RU except for those, which are already registered under this service, or same which are being sold at an auction.
To obtain the "Backorder" service you will be required to:
After you make a backorder, a deposit is reserved on the personal account
under your agreement.
The deposit is used:
Upon auction closing the deposit is:
Your order for "Backorder" service will become active, having a ready-to-process status, after deposit reservation. The list of active backorders can be viewed on the web server auction.nic.ru in the "My auctions" section ("Backordered Domains Auction" - "Orders: Active orders").
We draw your attention to the following important issues:
We recommend that you:
You can cancel your backorder, even if the money for it is allocated (ready-to-process order), in the following cases:
An order can be canceled on the web server auction.nic.ru in "My auctions" ("Backordered Domains Auction" - "Orders: Active orders").
After the order is canceled, the deposit is released on the personal account under your agreement, and can be used as payment for other services.
After a domain has been released, RU-CENTER attempts to register it. If the attempt is successful RU-CENTER:
If RU-CENTER is unable to register the domain in the Registry upon its release, your order will remain active.
In any aforesaid case, you will receive a notice to the contact e-mail address, specified in the agreement.
No. If a Registrant renews its domain registration, and the domain is not released on scheduled time, your order will remain active, and RU-CENTER will watch the new domain name release date.
AFTER DOMAIN RELEASE
If RU-CENTER is unable to register the domain in the Registry upon its release (RU-CENTER's request was not the first among other Registrar's requests), your order will remain active.
You can leave your order until the new domain name release date, or cancel it on the web server auction.nic.ru. After order cancellation the deposit will be released on the personal account under your agreement.
No auction will be held, if there is only one backorder request. In that case, RU-CENTER will transfer a domain ownership immediately upon domain registration in the Registry. The deposit reserved on the personal account under your agreement will be automatically withdrawn as payment for the service.
If your backorder request is not the only one, and RU-CENTER is able to register the domain in the Registry upon its release the backorderers will have a private auction.
You will be informed by e-mail about auction start, terms and conditions. This information will also be published on the web server auction.nic.ru 24 hours prior to auction start ("My auctions" - "Backordered Domains Auction" - "Auctions: Active" section).
You may not withdraw from the auction before its start.
You may withdraw only in auction progress, if your bid is not the Best or the Second Bid.
After your withdrawal ,the deposit will be released on the personal account under your agreement.
Note, that in case of withdrawal you will be unable to re-join the current bidding session for that domain
You can monitor the bidding on the web server auction.nic.ru in "My
auctions" - "Backordered Domains Auction" - "Auctions: Active".
The auction schedule (item 5.2.2.) envisages therefore the following solution:
The auction will be extended from the auction closing moment specified on the web server auction.nic.ru, if the last bid is placed in less than 5 minutes prior to auction closing. The auction will continue until bid-to-bid period exceeds 5 minutes.
Thus, if another bidder outbids you on the last minutes before the auction closing, you will have 5 minutes for responding and outbidding. If you enable proxy bidding, after you specified the Maximum bid, this proxy bidding will keep track of the bidding process and will bid up your amount.
Use the Proxy Bidding!
The auction closing moment is determined to the exact minute. Keep track of the auction status and wait until "Auction closing" message appears.
Proxy bidding will auto-bid your amount up to your Maximum Bid. The proxy bidding system will bid up with a minimum bid increment, if only your bid is not the Best Bid.
For a proxy bid you will be required to place the Maximum Bid you are willing to bid for a particular domain in an auction.
You can place the Maximum Bid in "My auctions" ("Backordered Domains Auction" - "Auctions: Active"). Later, as the auction progresses, you can change (increase or decrease) the Maximum Bid, or disable the proxy bidding by setting "0" in the Maximum Bid field or by leaving the field empty.
Note - you may not cancel the bids made by the proxy bidding.
Bids are changed by proxy bidding in split seconds.
If whois.nic.ru says "registered for backorder", and the domain owner is RU-CENTER - it means that the domain was registered under the "Backorder" service, and this domain was placed for an auction.
A Backordered Domains Auction is private only for the backorderers (before domain's release from the Registry). If you failed to make a backorder, you will not be able to participate in the auction.
If the domain was not purchased at the backordered domains auction, RU-CENTER may put it up for a public auction.
UPON AUCTION CLOSING
At the auction closing moment the letters with bidding results and the sequence of the following actions will be sent to your and other bidders' addresses specified in agreements with RU-CENTER.
If you are declared Auction Winner, RU-CENTER will transfer domain ownership to you in not more than 3 (three) business days after you remitted payment for the domain name.

To pay for the domain you will need to enter a sum of money into your personal account, which is enough to pay for the domain (including the deposit). The recharging procedure is given on RU-CENTER's web server www.nic.ru - http://www.nic.ru/, in the section Prices and payments.
Domain payment funds will be allocated on the personal account under your agreement, if the following conditions are met:
The funds allocated for domain payment will be automatically withdrawn on the last day of the domain payment period. The domain will be deemed paid for, and the deposit will be released on the personal account under your agreement.
If you wish to pay for the domain without waiting for the end of the domain name payment period, you will be required to
After you confirm your consent to pay for the domain now, the money, allocated for domain payment will be released on the personal account under your agreement within one calendar day. Yes, you are. If an Auction Winner fails to comply with his payment obligations, the domain name purchase right will go to the bidder, who offered the Second Bid, and you will become the Auction Winner.
A notification that you get the right to buy the domain name, or that the auction Winner paid for the domain name, will be sent to you to e-mail addresses specified in your agreement with RU-CENTER.
If the domain name was not purchased on the backorderd domains auction RU-CENTER remains the domain owner.
RU-CENTER can place the domain for a public auction, which will be held according to the Domain Name Auction Schedule.
